Lent 2013 – Day 11: ‘Surrendering All’

I’m very aware that I need to lay down my burdens
and surrender them to my Lord.
It certainly helps.
The trouble is, I tend to lay down the obvious burden that I’m carrying,
but forget that the pockets of my life are full of heavy pebbles that also weigh me down.
My prayer is that I’ll also lay down the less obvious things that I’m carrying,
or that I hide intentionally or unintentionally.
For I know I’ll only ever walk with a spring in my step
if I surrender ALL.
Only then will I discover that His yoke is easy
and His burden light as I journey with Him!
(Matthew 11:30)

All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I
 will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Saviour,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Saviour,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Saviour, wholly Thine;

Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Saviour,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Saviour,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!
