This Ash Wednesday,
I’m reminded that St Augustine of Hippo,
the influential philosopher and theologian (354 – 430) once said,
‘God has promised forgiveness to your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination.’
Lord, help me to make the most of this Lent … too slow down … pause … stand in awe … and let Your Spirit permeate my body, mind and soul in the silence.
May I not be tempted to put off doing what is most important, lest the rush and noise drowns out Your life-giving Word for me today.
Amen.
