Tony Miles – announcement!

After a lot of thought and prayer, it’s been my decision take a bit of a break from some of my responsibilities as a presenter at Premier Christian Radio.

As you may know, I’m now the Deputy Superintendent Minister at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster.  This means that whilst our Superintendent has his well-deserved sabbatical, I’ll be ‘Acting Superintendent’ for the early months of the New Year 2011 – a role I’ll be covering part-time.  It’s important I concentrate on the job in hand and my other responsibilities too.

So, having presented the Premier’s Big Breakfast on Saturdays for over 13 years, I’m going hand over the 8am – 11am part of the programme to an exciting new team.  Now you’ll still hear my dulcet tones on Premier (sorry about that!), because I’ll still be presenting the Saturday Quiet Time from 6am – 8am on with help of my good friend Daniel Sotunde.   Then, when things quieten down for me in after Easter, we‘ll see if there’s something else I can do for Premier – but it won’t be the later slot on a Saturday morning.

So, let me let you into a new secret (not now!) about the brand new Big Breakfast line up for 2011.  It’ll be the wonderful Lizzie Crow, who presented the Big Breakfast with me for quite some time, together with a new presenter on Premier Radio, Dave Gilpin – the senior pastor of Holy City Church in Sheffield.  I wish them well and will be rooting for them!

So, all this means that Christmas Day will be my last Big Breakfast, as such, on Premier!

As a special treat, my daughter, Hannah, will join me, together with Daniel Sotunde.  So, make sure you’re listening on Christmas morning – for fun, dedication, good music and few Christmas jokes from Tim Vine too.

If you can’t make it on Christmas Day, join me from 6-8am on New Year’s day and that same time in future on Saturdays.

Lizzie will be presenting the Big Breakfast on New Year’s Day, and then it will be Lizzie and Dave on a Saturday morning from 8am.

In case you are wondering, I hope to continue to present ‘Pause For Thought’ on BBC Radio 2, as and when invited to do so: that’s the 5.45am slot from time to time on Mondays or Fridays.

That’s all for now.  Your prayers would be appreciated.

Tony

hi Tony how r u. Hope u had a good Christmas. Was sorry to here the news about u and the Big Breakfast, I’m sorry I missed the last show. This is just really to say thank u. There have been times when I’ve listened that God has really spoken to me. it may have been something simple u have but I’ve been in tears as God has spoken into the situation I have found myself in. Also thank u for all the times u have played Michael W Smith for me and what u have chosen as they have spoken to me as well.
It is now Lizzie’s turn but i’m sure she is already used to it lol.
You will be in my prayers,
    Love Karen (Kaz)
