God of the morning,
I wake to this new day,
aware that You know me inside out
and yet you never give up on me.
As the day rises,
remind me today that I am Your dearly loved child;
as the day rises,
remind me today that You want me to turn towards Your love
and Your purposes for my life;
as the day rises,
remind me today that You can set me free from selfish and unloving ways;
as the day rises,
remind me to day to surrender my all to You,
so that I may rise too, to new life, to the hope of Your Kingdom.
God of the morning,
fill me with Your Spirit
and with rivers of living water that will, not only refresh me,
but will overflow from me to others
… with love, joy, peace – and all spiritual fruit.
God of the night,
of the morning,
and of the new day,
journey with me, I pray,
that I may triumph over all sin and adversity
and become a beacon of light in this dark word.
Remind me today that ‘The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?’
God of the glorious morning,
may I face my time ahead with confidence
and follow my Lord, the King of Kings,
all the day long.
Amen.
