A prayer for when you’re not okay

stained glass window

O Lord my God,
you know my inner most needs.
Others around me think I’m okay,
that I’ve got everything together,
but you know the truth:
that I’m not at always at peace –
with you, with others,
within myself, with myself.
I long to be made whole again;
to know your healing,
forgiveness and peace.
I give thanks and praise to you,
that you are the One who can bind up broken hearts,
soothe troubled souls,
wipe away tears,
mend relationships,
restore the fallen,
and give hope when all else seems hopeless.
Re-create me today,
and grant me a new beginning;
for I put my trust in all that Jesus has made possible
through his life, death, and resurrection.
Lay your hands gently upon me, today, I pray.
and anoint me with your Holy Spirit,
for your love’s sake.
Amen.
